As responsible global citizens, The Modern Quilt Guild and its members value service and philanthropy. Our philanthropy program is an important part of our mission.

Our philanthropic mission is to support individuals and communities during transitional periods through modern quilting.

At an international level, our members and member guilds work on philanthropy projects, creating quilts, quilt tops, quilt blocks and providing quilting supplies, in support of our philanthropic mission to improve life for those in transition. Examples of projects are:

  •  Quilts for the beds in a women's shelter
  •  Quilts for natural disaster survivors
  •  Quilt blocks that will be assembled into a quilt to bring attention to a cause that improves the lives of the homeless

Your organization might envision a global quilt making and distribution program, or might have a need for one quilt that will make a difference for one person in transition. All sizes of requests will be considered since we have Modern Quilt Guilds all over the world.

How to Request Support from The Modern Quilt Guild:

The Modern Quilt Guild reviews requests and evaluates them based on the fit with our mission and the capacity of Modern Quilt Guild chapters in your region. This consideration process takes 30-90 days. We do expedite disaster related requests. You will receive a communication once your application is evaluated, and if we are able to provide for your request, we will have a Project Manager work with your organization to manage the timeline and communications that will be needed to express the need to our members and Guilds, and to support them in their quiltmaking and the shipping of the items.

To be considered for a grant of quilts or quilt blocks, please submit your request here.

Thank you from the Charity Committee of The Modern Quilt Guild.
